Signs of dog pregnancy

7-10 days after they start to be in heat, female dog enters the later stage which she can get pregnant. This stage usually lasts around 5-14 days. If your dog has come in contact with male dog during that period of time. do look out for signs of pregnancy to avoid surprises. If you suspect your dog is pregnant, do send your dog to the vet for a ultrasound
Dog pregnancy is somewhat similar to human pregnancy. It has 3 trimester but is last only around 63 days.
  • First few weeks – Weight gain
  • 2-3 weeks – Swollen and more pinkish nipple
  • 3 week – Can be seen on ultrasound
  • Few days during 3-4 weeks – Morning sickness(Tiredness, lack of appetite, and vomiting)
  • 5-6 weeks – Stomach getting bigger
  • 5-6 weeks – Darker and bigger nipple
  • 6-9 weeks – Milky fluid may trickle out of her nipple
  • 7-9 weeks – Start to nest(Gathering of towel or clothing to a secluded area to get ready for the birth of her pups)
