How often does cat goes in heat

Unlike dogs, cats do not come in heat regularly every 6 months.
The frequency depends on:
  • Weight
  • Living environment
  • Breed
  • Season(Cats are usually in heat when it is warmer)
  • If there are other female cats in the family(Cat that is in heat will produce pheromones that can affect other cat and induce heat in other female cats)
The first heat occurs between 4-15month and short fur cat come in heat earlier than long fur cat.  It usually lasts 3-14 days. If your cat did not get to mate within that period, she might on in heat again within the next few days.
